"Big Fish" VS. "Life of Pi"

From the movie, "Big Fish" and the novel " Life of Pi", we can see there are some contrasts between the two of them, as both stories are true and the characters inside the amazing stories were literally alive such as Ping and Jing, the female opera twins, Karl the Giant, the ring leader is also known as the werewolf and the city, Spectre which Edward Bloom had reconstructs. For "Life of Pi", the story is also true, and the characters are living too, such as the zebra, hyena, and Richard Parker.

The thing about both stories is that both of them are true. It happens in reality which is based on facts and evidence to show the others that both Edward Bloom and Pi have some incredible and amazing adventures. Some people do not believe in their stories due to the fact that they think it is "impossible" to have such a fantastic story. However, at the end of the movie "Big Fish" ,Edward's son starts to believe his dad's adventures because he sees the characters that are mentioned. For the "Life of Pi" the Japanese man, Mr. Okamoto, starts to get interested in the story that Pi tells him.

From both of the stories, I learn that when people say impossible to do something, they do not really mean impossible but more improbable. As I look through the definition of the word “impossible”, it says, not possible; unable to exist or happen. For example, it is impossible for a person to have lay eggs, because it is not in our genes. After, look through the meaning of improbable, the explanation is, unlikely to happen. So from the meaning we can conclude that improbable is possible, but with a very low chance of happening. From the two explanation I think that the two stories of improbable and not impossible, as it is possible to have a giant friends and to survive on the ocean for hundred of days; it is just not possible to happen.
